1. Information We Collect

No personal information required: You do not need to sign up, register, or provide any personal details (name, email, phone number) to use Ram Tuner.

Microphone access (local only): The app requests microphone permission solely to detect pitch from your instrument. Audio signals are processed in real-time on your device using native algorithms. No audio is ever recorded, saved, or transmitted outside the app. After you finish tuning, the microphone data is immediately discarded.

Automatically collected data via ad services: To serve ads and keep the app free, third-party advertising networks (Google AdMob) may collect certain device information such as: IP address, device type, operating system, advertising identifier (IDFA/AAID), and interactions with ads. This data is handled under their respective privacy policies and used to provide relevant ads & measure ad performance.

2. Offline & Tuner Core

Ram Tuner works fully offline — you can tune your guitar, bass, or ukulele without any internet connection. The pitch detection engine and instrument profiles (standard tuning, alternate tunings for bass/ukulele) are stored locally. No usage data is sent to our servers while you are offline. If you are online, ads may load to support the app, but the core tuning functionality remains independent of network status.

We do not track your tuning sessions or store any history of notes played — your privacy is preserved at all times.

3. Advertising & Revenue Model

Ram Tuner is free and supported by advertisements (ads). We use Google AdMob as our primary ad mediation partner. AdMob may collect identifiers and usage data to display personalized or non-personalized ads based on your device settings and region.

• You can control ad personalization via your device settings (for Android: Google Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization; for iOS: Settings → Privacy → Apple Advertising).
• Third-party ad networks may use cookies or SDKs to measure ad effectiveness and prevent fraud.
• We do not share any direct personal information (like email or name) with advertisers.

4. Third-Party Services & Permissions

Permissions used by Ram Tuner:

• android.permission.RECORD_AUDIO / iOS Microphone permission — required for pitch detection. Used only locally while tuner is active.
• Internet permission — required to fetch and display advertisements (optional for offline usage). Without internet, ads won't show, but the tuner remains fully functional.

We do not integrate analytics or crash reporting tools that collect personal data. The app does not contain tracking pixels, nor does it share data with any data brokers.

5. Children’s Privacy

Ram Tuner is suitable for users of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app does not request age information. Because we don’t collect personal data, there is no risk of children’s personal data being shared. However, if you are a parent and believe your child has provided us with any personal information (through a potential bug), please contact us immediately, and we will take steps to remove such information.

If ad personalization is enabled, Google AdMob may comply with child-directed policies based on the app's designations (we have marked the app as not targeted to children under 13 but still follows COPPA guidelines by not collecting personal info).

6. Data Retention & Security

Since we do not store any user-generated content or personal data on our servers, there is no data retention cycle. Any local app preferences (like last instrument selected) are stored on your device only and can be cleared by uninstalling the app or clearing app data. We implement reasonable security measures to protect the app from vulnerabilities, but note that no method of transmission over the internet for ads is 100% secure — third-party SDKs follow their own security practices.

7. Your Privacy Rights

If you reside in the European Economic Area (EEA), California, or other regions with privacy laws, you have the following rights:

• Right to access / deletion: Since we don’t store personal data, no action is needed. For any data held by ad networks (like advertising ID), you can reset your advertising ID via device settings.
• Opt-out of personalized ads: On Android, go to Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization. On iOS, go to Settings → Privacy → Apple Advertising → Turn off Personalized Ads.
• Do Not Track signals: Our ad partners may honor DNT signals, but we recommend adjusting ad settings directly.

You may also uninstall the app at any time — this action removes all local data and preferences.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal/regulatory reasons. Any updates will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. For significant changes, we may notify you via an in-app notice or a pop-up when you open the app. Continued use of Ram Tuner after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
